The best advice that I’ve heard in a long, long time is don’t figure things out on your own, it’s time consuming and expensive. Better than stumbling in the dark is to find someone who has figured it out and pay them to teach you. After all you won’t be making the same mistakes that they and others like them made. Use your money to buy smooth sailingand winning the race against the competition. Getting there first is definitely worth the price. Make it Easy on Yourself.
The main reason to pay for help is to access proven systems that you would have to develop on your own. After developing these systems, you’d then have to perfect them and adjust to fit your business. This is a huge waste of time, energy and brain power. It seems much better to devote your efforts to working in your business rather than ON your business. Why not give yourself every opportunity for success and use the professional help out there?
Success is on the Other Side of Your Fear!
I believe the answer to that question is fear. I think people are afraid to seek out the help that would allow them to surge ahead because they are afraid of making a mistake. They believe that they are smart people and should be able to set their business up. The reality of this is that truly smart people recognize what they don’t know and get the help they need. They see time as money and mistakes costly and they are right. Not to mention the cost associated with burning through your contacts and loosing perfectly good sales opportunities because you weren’t ready to seize the chance when it came along. Needless to say the real mistake comes from not getting the help you need immediately.
Don’t be Afraid to be Sold.
The next reason people are afraid to get help is that they don’t want to be “sold”. They’re afraid that the consultant is trying to sell them something and they’re not wrong. The question is not whether the consultant is selling something or not, the real question is does the business owner need the services the consultant is selling? Often a business owner doesn’t know whether they do or they don’t because they are unsure of where the problems actually lie. A leap of faith is needed but first…
And the Answer is…
