Let’s face it, marketing is Expensive
True, but it’s also what drives a business forward. The good news is that there are still tons of ways to market for FREE. My suggestion is to look for every free way to market your business. And then USE them.
I’m going to offer just a few of the practically unlimited ways to market a business today. Here goes:
Take the time to learn to use social media more effectively.
While everyone knows that this is a winner, I hear way too many excuses. People this is your golden opportunity to make it happen for free. And the future of how business will be done. Learn to use it, attempt to maximize it and definitely embrace it. Social media is here to stay!
Build your expertise through posting valuable information that your audience can use.
Everyone knows we are living in the information age, yet people are still trying to hang on to their knowledge. In order for that knowledge to work for you it needs to be shared. I recommend marketing through writing articles, blogs, e books, ezines, ect. There are also unlimited amounts of media opportunities out there by way of TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, etc. What about webinars, videos, podcasts, and one and on. They reach thousands of people at the same time and nothing positions you as an expert like the media.
Create a newsletter and send it to your audience
This is simple to do. Get a design template that looks good and go from there. Photos are great to break up the text and keep it snazzy.
Host free or low cost events that your audience would attend. This is a great way to pick up new customers.
This is an absolute must do. Have them bring other people, in your target audience, and give them info that is vital to them. One word of caution here, do not just give them a one hour sales pitch. It is imperative to offer lots of valuable content.
Focus on marketing new services to existing customers.
New services to existing customers is a no brainer but most of us are so focused on our product or service that we can see nothing else. Get creative and offer viable services to our existing customer base.
Invite “lost” customers to come back.
When asked why they aren’t using a business lost customers will state three main reasons.
They were unhappy with the product or service. You need to know this and make the necessary changes.
They had a problem. You need to find out what the problem was and how you can solve it.
They forgot. This is the easiest yet. You need to remind them.
All three are an easy fix. The best news is that if you can bring back just 33% of your lost customers you’ve just dramatically increased your business for FREE. Imagine how great that would be.
Ask existing customers for referrals.
This is the easiest one yet. It’s so simple, quick and effective that it is an absolute must.
I hope these will help you stretch your marketing budget and bring in many new, old and lost customers.
I’d love to hear your suggestions for FREE marketing strategies. After all with the cost of running a business today, I’m interested in as many free things as possible, so don’t hold back.
