EVERYONE wants to sell me something. I’ll admit that many of the products and services, people are hawking are valuable, BUT there’s no way I could afford them all. However, I still need to drive my business forward.
My solution is to seek out FREE resources for small business owners.
I love e-books. They don’t take lots of time to read, are short and offer the info quickly. If you’re looking for something specific, you can search it and it pops right up, saving tons of time.
Check out Free E-Books. You can download 5 e-books per month for free. Even if you decide to pay for their service, it’s not much.
The articles posted at Ezine Articles are pretty good. In fact, with their new guidelines the quality of their articles has increased dramatically. There are over 400,000 articles there on just about any topic you can think about. Easy to access and FREE.
I like E How for just about everything these days. Tons of info on just about every subject. I think we might all want to get in the habit of checking there in early stages of research.
Entrepreneur Magazine is worth a once over. They have lots of great advice but remember that they are paid by their advertisers. As in any mass media, you have to remember where the real money is coming from and who the target market is. In case you’re not clear, it’s YOU. With that said, there’s lots of free advice for you there.
Inc.com has a variety of resources that could help an entrepreneur in every stage of business.
Don’t miss the section on Entrepreneur.com offering free legal forms. Legal services eat up money faster than just about everything else. This section might save you some money.
I haven’t actually found SCORE very helpful but I know lots of people that have. It is especially helpful for new businesses. Check them out.
Small Business Administration has been around for a long time and has been an invaluable resource for businesses for years. They have an entire section on loans that every small business owner should be familiar with.
Consultations are a great way to check out services. Frequently, I am able to offer real value to a small business owner during the free consultation. Often a person could make enough from my suggestions to pay for my entire program.
Webinars, teleseminars, online courses offer amazing information. Some of these have been more informative than college classes. They can also give you access to the who’s-who in an industry.
MY # 1 SUGGESTION
USE the info gathered to run your business better and make more money. If you use the FREE resources wisely you could make enough money to pay for the more tailored services. The paid services are the ones that take your company to the next level.
Please comment and recommend your favorite, most valuable and possibly obscure FREE resources that we should all know about. I’m compiling a list that I’ll be offering to small businesses. I appreciate you reading, sharing and commenting.
