APATHY IS THE ENEMY – 3 WEAPONS TO TAKE INTO BATTLE
April 8, 2012
Sure you might be bumping along at a steady but slow pace. You’re making some progress however there’s nothing to brag about. It’s just OK. You’re not happy but your not sad either. In truth, your apathetic.
AND THAT’S A DANGEROUS PLACE TO BE.
Unless you are passionate, excited and raring to go. You’re not truly living your life. You’re existing. The space where apathy lives is drab, the energy is dull and there is a constant nagging voice that says you could do so much more.
“You have to love what you do or you’ll never be successful.” Donald Trump
APATHY DRAINS YOU
Apathy is the enemy because it drains your power. It diminishes who you really are and belittles you. The worst part of apathy is that this isn’t something that someone else is doing to you. YOU’RE doing it to YOURSELF! You’re the one that is holding yourself back. You’re underplaying your own game. You’re settling for ordinary and by doing so, you’re not going to achieve greatness.
The good news is that you are in control. You can take the steps to get back in the game. You can grab the gold ring and win the prize. You have what it takes, you’re in charge and you call the shots. Ask yourself these three questions.
Realizing that you are in control is as scary as it is exhilarating. The following are a few key steps to get you on the right track and moving toward excitement and passion.
GATHER YOUR WEAPONS
PREPARE FOR VICTORY
Success like anything doesn’t fall from the sky. I’ve watched people doggedly prepare for success, working day and night to achieve it and when they “hit it big,” people say they were lucky. They were a lot of things but I wouldn’t really call it lucky. I would call it prepared.
Donald Trump says, “The harder I work the luckier I get.” I’m sure he’s not the first person to say that and won’t be the last.
Successful people set goals and work towards them. Without the goal setting process they would likely not know where they were headed nor would they know if somehow they got there. Take a minute to learn more about goals.
ATTACK YOUR FEAR WITH ACTION
Most people who are suffering from apathy are stuck. They don’t know which way to turn so they don’t go anywhere. They are afraid to make any move, fearing it will be the wrong one. Your mind moves in the direction of your dominate thought! While you are thinking about your fear, uncertainty and lack of direction, your mind is providing more of it. Be aware that apathy feeds fear.
“Some people step up the plate and some don’t.” Donald Trump
Movement is a must. Even if it is movement in the wrong direction, it is good. As Dan Kennedy says, “Taking the wrong action is better than no action at all. As long as you are moving you will eventually find the right path.” I totally agree with him.
Also remember, doing nothing is a decision. Click here for a grave example of doing nothing. By doing nothing you have essentially decided to stay where you are. However that is an illusion. You can’s stay where you are, without action, you’re really falling behind. This is because the pace that the rest of the world is moving at is so quick. It doesn’t take long to fall behind.
The best and easiest way to get out of your rut is to seek professional help. Don’t get scared, I’m not talking about a shrink. I’m talking about someone who helps people with their professional lives. A person who helps people get their businesses back on track.
STRONG VERSUS WEAK
Strong people seek help when they need it and dramatically increase their chances of success. Weak people struggle, make everything harder than it needs to be, and never truly achieve noteworthy.
My best clients are strong people with good ideas and the ability to take action. They aren’t fearless, they just don’t let fear paralyze them. They take action and have sought my help. They are achieving phenomenal results because they are getting the help they need to move further, faster and more powerfully. They are SOARING and I am proud of them. Hear what they have to say.
If you are ready to hit the next level, ready to leave apathy behind, contact me. I’m always seeking those serious about achieving success.
