THREE MISTAKES MANY ENTREPRENEURS MAKE – JAMES MALINCHAK
April 27, 2012
Here in Maui at the Jack Canfield and James Malinchak Retreat so my posts will be short and hopefully a bit more frequent.
James is a terrific and generous teacher. He’s smart as a whip and fearless in his ability to take calculated risks. I’m so impressed by him as is everyone at the retreat.
Here are the mistakes that James warns against:
1. Message vs Business
Many people create a fabulous environment, buy state of the art equipment and rent luxury suites without thinking about the most important thing… Message. The most important thing is the message because that’s what brings in the business. Ask yourself “How am I going to bring in customers?” Don’t do anything until you’ve answered that question!!!
2. Thinking like yourself
You are not living in a vacuum, nor should you business be. You can’t expect your customers to think like you. They’re different and you need to know what they want. NOT what they NEED! People don’t buy what they need, they buy what they want.
How do you get this info? James has a cutting-edge way to do this. He asks them! It has worked well for him and it will work well for you as well. Give it a try. Ask, “What do you want from us?”
3. Working hard
It matters not how hard you work. It matters not how smart you work. What matters is that you are doing the right thing. Use the right language, the right lines, the right words, etc. Get it right and you’ve got a chance to go big.
These three mistakes many entrepreneurs make are easily avoidable. Listen to James, he has a phenomenal track record.
Recommendation: If you’re not following James Malinchak, you’re running the race with your feet tied together. Do it now.
